VinFast MPV 7: The Affordable 7-Seater Electric Car That Could Disrupt India’s Auto Market!
The Indian electric vehicle market is heating up in the MPV segment, and VinFast is ready to make its boldest move yet. The Vietnamese automaker, which made a strong entry into India in 2025 with its VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs, is now set to launch its third product — the all-electric VinFast MPV 7. Promising space, smart technology, and aggressive pricing, the VF MPV 7 could redefine what families expect from an electric people carrier.
Design: Boxy Done Right

The VF MPV 7 sports a boxy silhouette intentionally adopted to maximize interior space. It measures 4,740 mm in length, 1,872 mm in width, and 1,728 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm, and the wheels are pushed to the corners with minimal overhangs to create more room for occupants.
Up front, the MPV gets vertically stacked LED headlights and a full-width LED light bar that converges at the centre, where the VinFast logo sits. At the rear, a matching full-width LED light bar provides a distinctive look, along with a black-finished bumper for visual contrast. The overall silhouette is practical yet purposeful — this is a vehicle designed around its passengers, not its looks.
Powertrain, Range, and Charging

The VF MPV 7 is powered by a 60.13 kWh battery pack paired with a front-axle-mounted electric motor producing 201 hp and 280 Nm of torque, with a claimed 0–100 kmph sprint time of 10 seconds. VinFast claims an NEDC-rated range of 450 km on a full charge.
The battery supports up to 80 kW DC fast charging, capable of topping up from 10 to 70 percent in around 30 minutes. For daily family use, these numbers are more than sufficient for most urban and intercity commutes.

Interior, Features, and Comfort

VinFast has branded the MPV 7 a “room on wheels,” and that tagline holds up when you look at the cabin. The interior features a black and brown dual-tone theme, perforated leatherette upholstery, roof-mounted AC vents for rear passengers, cupholders, and an armrest on the centre console.
The dashboard is centred around a 10.1-inch touchscreen that also doubles as the instrumentation display. Other creature comforts expected include Type A and Type C charging ports, a height-adjustable driver seat, keyless entry, and tilt-and-telescopic steering adjustment.

The India-spec model is also likely to be offered with additional features such as a head-up display and up to 6 airbags, over and above the 4 airbags available on the international model. The safety suite also includes hill start assist, ABS with EBD, and an electronic parking brake.
Official Launch Date and Pre-Bookings
VinFast officially opened bookings for the VF MPV 7 on April 2, 2026, through its website and network of 50 authorized dealerships nationwide, with a pre-booking amount of INR 21,000. The official launch and price announcement are set for April 15, 2026, with deliveries slated to begin immediately after.
Tapan Ghosh, CEO of VinFast India, said the VF MPV 7 marks another step in the company’s efforts to win over Indian consumers with modern, practical, and accessible electric mobility.
Expected Price in India
The VF MPV 7 is estimated to be priced between Rs 19.90 lakh and Rs 23.90 lakh. Rivals like the Kia Carens Clavis EV are priced at Rs 17.99 lakh, and VinFast may be planning an aggressive pricing approach by focusing on space and practicality.
VinFast will also offer a 75 percent buyback value after two years based on the trade-in vehicle’s ex-showroom price, along with a special incentive of up to Rs 2 lakh for customers exchanging a petrol or diesel car. Additionally, MPV 7 customers will get free charging at VinFast’s V-Green stations until March 31, 2029.
Global Roots and Vietnam Launch
The VF MPV 7 was first launched in Vietnam in January 2026. It was introduced at VND 819 million (approximately $31,200), backed by a 7-year/160,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty. The strong global reception gave VinFast the confidence to bring the model to India as its flagship family offering.

Competition
The VF MPV 7 will compete against three-row electric offerings including the Kia Carens Clavis EV, BYD eMax 7, and the Mahindra XEV 9S. With its combination of space, range, and value-led pricing, VinFast is clearly aiming for a strong debut in this growing segment.
VinFast’s Growing India Presence
The VF MPV 7 marks VinFast’s third product for India. The company had earlier launched the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs in September 2025, both of which received multiple industry awards. The manufacturer also plans to establish 75 showrooms and 230 touchpoints for its India business by the end of 2026. The VF MPV 7 is a key piece in that expansion puzzle.
